About Christopher Durin

My name is Christopher Durin. I am a veterinarian and have been in practice since 1993, with my skill focus and extra qualifications in surgery. Joint problems are a big part of my day and I have cared for a LOT of arthritic dogs and cats over the years. I have recently been diagnosed with an immune mediated arthritis myself, the pain of which makes me appreciate the bravery of our furry friends all the more.

Sadly I have seen some truly beautiful dogs euthanized because their crippling arthritis becomes unbearable and they lose quality of life and their will to live. I have also seen many dogs where the arthritis can be managed or even prevented – with the right combination treatments.

My job is to help you find the right combination of treatments for your much loved friend – to give your pet the best quality of life it can possibly have. In doing this I need to overcome the fear and misinformation out there and to provide a balanced treatment plan that is achievable and more importantly that WORKS.

Understanding Arthritis in Dogs

You need to understand WHAT arthritis is, WHY it is important and HOW we treat it with a combination of drugs, exercise and more.

If you take the time to understand arthritis then your furry friend will do well.  Importantly I am not going to dumb things down or simplify them too much – you need to know how this all works to a pretty detailed level if you are going to make treatment decisions. It takes time and effort to understand arthritis but it is very empowering. Armed with this knowledge you will be able to make your own mind up on each latest and greatest supplement or discuss things with your veterinarian at a higher level.
